Strategies of War - 3

Part 3

Then we have the strategy to "Find the center point of the enemy and attack it

This is a strategy that the enemy has used very effective against the Church of the Lord Jesus. He understands that the Lord is desirous of speaking to his people in this hour and if the center point of our lives which is our relationship with and our mandate from Christ can be disrupted, he has the upper hand.

We must be just as determined in going after the "center point of our enemy and when we attack, go to the very root of the problem, not tire ourselves out putting out little fires that have been sent as a distraction.

In our Christian walk, the enemy is after our "center point and most don't even know what the center point of our walk is. It's the Word of God and the strategies that the leadership is here in our house are trying to give.

Therefore satan is after the Word as it is written, the Word from the Holy Ghost as He speaks to our hearts communicating what Christ desires and the words that we are conveying in building the Kingdom of God.

Hebrews chapter 1 states:

1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

There's no question that God the Father is communicating in this generation. However the question becomes "How is He communicating?

It's clear that God is communicating to this generation through His Son, Jesus.

Jesus said, "My sheep know my voice¦ If we know His voice and He is speaking to us, He's speaking with the intent that we would obey what He is saying.

The challenge is for the Saints of God to recognize God's voice and in doing so, trust that understanding will follow so that we are "Doer's of the Word that's communicated and not hearer's only.

One of the things that happen in modern warfare is when war is declared, one of the things that is taken out is the enemies "communication base.  The strategy here is to cut off the communication capabilities of the opponent.

Their ability to communicate is essential if they are going to be able to share the position and strategies of the opponent and not be taken by surprise in the fight.

Defined, to communicate is "the exchange of information between people. I would like to add something to this definition as over the years I've come to know that many times something shared or exchanged between two people can become "muddled, mixed up or jumbled in the translation.

The fact is that just because something is shared, it does not mean that it is communicated effectively. In order for it to be effective communication, "the person receiving what is sent must receive it in the manner intended

This is a strategy of the devil against the Church us as followers of Jesus Christ in the day we live in. He is taking and has taken out "proper communication strategies of the people of God.

There is much preaching, much prayer, much fasting and much communication, but the Truth contained in the message that's being conveyed is not getting to the heart of the people of God.

There's nothing wrong with the message or the Truth contained therein; there's nothing wrong with the vessel God uses to relay His heart and there's nothing wrong with the people that the message is intended for. The problem lies in the disruption in the base of communication by the enemy.

Without knowing it, some Christians have forfeited their maturity and effectiveness by not recognizing the importance of hearing and being in proper position to hear what God is saying.

The enemy has kept many people in an infancy stage in their walk with God. By deceiving the people of God through fleshly influences and causing them to indulge in what makes them feel good, distractions and relying on knowledge without any intent of practical application [applying what they are learning] many are ineffective in their witness for Christ.

These seducing spirits have taken control and their voice and temptations to your flesh have usurped the authority that Christ is supposed to have. Not realizing it, little by little the enemy gets you off track where what is wrong begins to look right.

The principle here is revealed in First Timothy 4 referring to the latter times we live in and the intensity of demonic activity we will face.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

Here these spirits are referred to as being deceptive or the KJV translates it as seducing spirits. To seduce means "to lead astray; or to cause to wander about

As someone is being seduced, they are being lead by the enemy and without knowing it they are hopelessly wandering about, sometimes doing good things at the expense of God desiring to do great things through them.

We'll be talking about these things as we get into the teaching, but how does the enemy cut off communication?

He gets you out of position where you cannot hear what's being spoken in the church you're attached to. You must realize that although God's Word is important and you can receive a Word from God that can strengthen and encourage you, the most important Word you will receive is that which comes from Pastor Brenda and I as your local church pastors.

Why? Because you are connected to this local assembly and the Spirit of God speaks to the shepherds of the church specifically for those that are joined to that house.

This is evidenced in the Book of Revelations where in chapter one you have in verse 4 John speaking to the "seven churches in Asia.

He then proceeds in chapter 2 to give a specific message to the "angel or the Greek word "aggellos meaning messenger of each specific church beginning with the church in Ephesus.

So hearing specifically what is being spoken in our house is vital for you and us because we will never accomplish the mandate that God placed upon us without the people that are supposed to be joined to us hearing the same thing.

Therefore what happens is one of the first things satan does is get us to become uncomfortable with the church and comfortable with things that are not wrong in themselves but will replace the time we are to spend in church.

Even some Christians that know that the Bible tells us to "Not forsake the assembling of ourselves together with other believers after a while becomes discontent and lose the zeal they had for the local church.

They miss one service here and there and then the services are compounded where they miss two or three in a row. Eventually, they do not come at all.

Please understand that it's not so much that they miss a service, but the enemy has now been effective in "cutting off communication as now they have not heard what God is saying.

This communication goes beyond what is spoken in a specific teaching as the "Spirit of the message cannot be captured on a CD or DVD. Yes there is the knowledge of the message and God can give understanding in the principles that are being shared. However there is an impartation that occurs when you are in a service that you cannot get in its fullness from other media.

Therefore the enemy gets you out of position and causes greater emphasis to be placed elsewhere.

He also causes your mind to wander when the Word is being preached. This is where satan comes immediately to steal the Word that is sown.

This is only part of it as other things satan does is cause you to lose focus on what is being said and miss what the main point of any given Scripture is. He causes confusion and distractions so you don't even hear what is being said.

This does not only pertain to the preached or taught Word, but when we are giving directives in ministry. Sometimes even the simplest tasks are a challenge for some people to grasp.

I think it's not so much that you don't understand what is being spoken, but that we deceive ourselves into not asking God, the teacher or a dictionary for clarification into what was said.

Therefore you go around in ignorance and instead of operating on your highest level, you remain in a state that God [and us] are assuming that you got past. This keeps the ministry from advancing and also causes unwarranted frustration that should have been avoided.

But this is not new. What must be realized is that ever since the Garden of Eden the Father has been seeking a relationship with humans that's based on communication. To God it did not matter what state you were in, He was always trying to keep the channels of communication open.

The example we have is when Adam disobeyed God and was hiding in the Garden, God still searched him out.

Being Omniscient, God knew the state that Adam was in. God knew Adam ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God also knew that not only was Adam hiding, but where he was hiding at -  yet God still went after him.

In Genesis 3 it says:

8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?

10 So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?

Many times we hide from God in the same way that Adam did. When the voice of God convicts us of a sin we may have committed against Him or we unconsciously rebel against a command from God, instead of submitting to the All-knowing God, we hide among the other trees that are around us.

In Mark chapter 8, we have what I will refer to as a principle of the trees revealed as Jesus healed a blind man first asking if he saw anything. The reply was, "I see men like trees walking

22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. 23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.

24 And he looked up and said, "I see men like trees, walking.

25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.

Adam hid among the trees and sometimes we hide among people. Instead of going to God, we run from Him and those that are His representatives seeking a voice among the trees that will validate our fallen position and give us consolation in the state we have fallen.

When we are alienated from God, a touch from the Master is needed so we can be restored to proper communication with the Father and see things clearly as we should.

As verse 9 says, God still called Adam because He desired communication to be restored that was broken by the devils deceitful scheming.

God covered Adam's sin or his nakedness by removing the cloak of leaves that he made for himself and giving Adam the only remedy for a fallen man, which is the blood covering. It says in verse 21 "Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them

This tunic was a "Loose wide-necked garment that extended to the hip or knee, usually worn with a belt or gathered at the waist

Being made of skin, tells us that an animal had to die in order provide for this covering. Therefore God had to kill an animal so His communication with mankind would not be cut off.

Besides speaking and writing a note, modern day methods of communication in most countries include telephone lines; internet capabilities and news media.

The thing God gave humans that's unique to all other creatures is the ability to speak to one another therefore conveying ideas and desires as well as bringing comfort and peace to those that hear.

But by the same token, the same mouth has the ability to bring forth cursing and damnation and in doing so can be used to destroy instead of build up. James 3:

8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

Even though it says that no man can tame the tongue, the fact is a tongue that's given over to the Spirit of God can be tamed. The question is, "Who are you yielding your members to?

The strategy that I want to share here is the enemy has been quite successful in turning our words against us. Instead of our words bringing life and blessing, we often release death and cursing.

Instead of our words producing God's intended promises, we often negate the promise because of what we say and often because what we say is not spoken in the manner that God determined for us in His Word.

We are told over and over again to watch what we say and when we do speak, to speak in accordance with the Word of God.

Many Christians just say anything and to our own hurt and detriment we find ourselves stuck in a rut that lasts for years. We will never come out of some things we face until we learn to speak in agreement with God.

Satan has influenced us to use our tongues against God's purposes and have kept us living below what God intends. So many times we're told to say something or refrain from saying something and either it goes in one ear and out the other or we just don't take God seriously.

One small but powerful example is in Mark chapter 11. We've seen it so many times that when it's shared I'm certain that many "matured Christians don't even open their Bibles to the Scripture.

But within the framework of these Scriptures is the essence of why we exist and how God intends for us to establish his Kingdom in the earth. Mark 11

20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ˜Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

The fact is that you are going to have what you say and I add, "Good or bad. The word "say used here means much more than the thing that is spoken. It deals with "what is spoken authoritatively or directly and that which is commanded

Here, you really believe what you are saying even if you try and mast it with a Scripture that says the opposite.

In the same manner the Bible says we are saved by "Believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths [Romans 10:9, 10], we also must have the same principle in operation and have the same determination when it comes to the Word of God. We must believe what the Word says, and then confess it until it becomes a reality in our lives.

To speak words without thinking is dangerous even in joking. I understand speaking in a joking manner, but when things said become authoritative and direct as you speak really believing what you're joking about, those things have the power to change the course of our lives or keep us on the path we've been on for decades.

These authoritative words are things that you really believe will happen. You have thought about them, meditated upon them and find no way the situation can change therefore although you sit in church week after week, you have a difficult time mustering the faith to really believe what God said.

Without the continual hearing of the Word of God [as faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God] you don't have the support base to reinforce a changed mindset that will bring change to your circumstances.

You resolve or come to the conclusion that things will not change and when you're around some Christians you say the "Bible thing but deep in your heart you're saying that there's no way this can change. You have actually sided with the thoughts of the enemy and allowed him to take out this mode of communication.

The enemy takes this war very seriously and has targeted each of the Christians bases of communication. Our mentality must be "If God said it, that settles it and I'm going to get in His Word until I'm totally convinced that what He said I believe

Instead of speaking in agreement with God, many are siding with the reports of the world and the economics of the nation. We speak the problem instead of what God said and according to the principle Jesus gave us in Mark chapter 11, "You will have what you say.

Remaining ignorant, many of us refuse to grow in the things of God and apply ourselves to learn how to speak and how we should pray.

You must not allow hopelessness to dominate your life and recognize that you must mature in this area and commit in your heart to grow in the things of God.

For some Christians, we become competitive in our walk with God. We compare ourselves with other Believer's instead of pressing in with the things God has for us individually. They become intimidated because someone else knows more than they do or can pray better than they can.

This is dangerous because you never grow to the place of maturity as long as you hide from the process that God has for each of us to go through.

No one gets Born Again one day and the next he is a fully matured Believer. There's a process that each of us must go through that will ensure our maturity so we can become skilled at utilizing the Word of God in our lives.

God is trying to communicate with us on our won level, and because we're trying to be like someone else or because we are embarrassed because someone knows more than we do, we don't get God's instructions for our individual lives.

One of the communication bases being attacked by satan in the Body of Christ is he gets them to use their tongues against one another; against the leadership; and against the things God wants to change in the world in general.

People that are being used in this manner have no idea about what it takes to get to the place of true and pure communication that is revealed in the Word.

These actions have produced Sunday morning Christians that know what to say in church, but because there has been no change of heart, they revert back to their old way of speaking and living on Monday.

They speak negative about their bodies, their minds, their children and families, their church and pastors and everything from the violence in the streets and schools to the president of the United States of America.

As we speak in this manner the question must be asked, "Is God doing anything in your life? Is God doing anything in our nation? Is He doing anything in our schools? Is He doing anything in our government?

If we would look good and hard, you will see that if it had not been for the grace of God, we would have died long ago and given up long ago. Therefore God is at work in the earth and especially our individual lives.

The great news is that He's not done and we have every right to expect Him to continue the things that He's begun in and through us in spite of the negative reports we may hear and the controversial circumstances we may face.

This is where we're confident of this very thing that He who has begun a good work in us will perform it [or bring it through to completion] until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

Therefore, either our words must change or we must continue speaking in agreement with God and not give up because of what it looks like.

Our words must reflect what God desires from us. We must resist at all costs our positive "faith base of communications being whittled away at by satan until there is only doubt, unbelief and negatives coming from our lips throughout the week while we still keep our religious faces on Sunday.

What we have to understand is this is not only a "word issue, but a heart issue. It's your heart that produces the mindset that is either positive or negative. It's your heart that either allows you to embrace what God said or what the devil said.

Jesus said in Matthew 12:33

"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

What is in your heart? Has there been a heart change?

  • If it's fear - that's coming out.
  • If it's poverty - that's what's coming out.
  • If it's sickness without the hope that God gives of healing - that's what's coming out.

Here we're told that it's because of our words that the sentence is passed on our lives. No longer being justified by our words, we have relegated our lives to be lived in a manner that is below the Covenant that is already in place.

I think it's more tragic to have a Covenant and not have it ever lived out than to not have a covenant at all.

In the same manner, by these words that we speak, our lives are justified. This is what happens when we apply the Word to our life and situation. We no longer walk by what we see, but by what we have come to know that God said.

We have placed in our hearts what Jesus said concerning impossible situations stating, "What's impossible with man is possible with God, for with God all things are possible. Mark 9:23

But we have to take control of our words and not give in to the strategies of the devil as he takes out our "main method of communication.

If asked what this main method is, we must answer that it is "words spoken in faith. We must communicate from the perspective of faith which always sees things from God's perspective.

The fact is that satan understands the power of unity and instead of taking out our mode of communication, he causes us to be confused in how we communicate. We don't say what God says about our lives; we speak negative over our lives, families, home; church; city; state, etc.

As I have said so many times, although God is all powerful [Omnipotent], and all knowing [Omniscient], we must never under estimate the ability of the devil to confuse the people of God.

He is a master at copying God and one of the strategies he learned is revealed in the Scriptures.
