Unity In the Community

Below are a few pictures that show our Unity in the Community event. Our estimates are that over seven hundred people attended.

Almost everyone was very pleased and has already asked when we are going to have another one? Our hope is that we will be able to do this annually.

As you will see, Albany Mayor Gerald Jennings stopped by and City Council person Carolyn McLaughlin also attended.

We were able to give out over 2,000 prizes to those that played our Carnival Games. We also had over fifty-five drawings giving away six bicycles, eight gas cards and six Wal-Mart gift cards and autographed items by NY Giants star, David Tyree. We gave out over 200 book bags with school supplies, had cotton candy and popcorn and hot dogs in abundance.

There were beverages, snacks, clothes, and in addition to our two Bouncy Bounce Houses we had the eight foot Monster Basketball Hoop and 12 Foot Sports Wall.

The Albany Police Departments "School Resource Officer's" provided our children with Identification fingerprinting and photos while Classique Magazine's Annette DeLavallade attended representing the U.S. Census Bureau

Because of your help and prayers we were able to bring our community together without incident and saw the unity we desired displayed as we all came together for an afternoon of food, family and fun.

In addition to thanking our hard working New Horizons members, we want to say a special "thank you" to Bethlehem Community Church for their support throughout the event and providing much needed man power during the outreach.

God bless you,

Pastors David and Brenda
